Missio Dei

In this series of short videos from the Lausanne Movement, we define key missional terms in an easy-to-understand way. ‘Missio Dei’ is a Latin term often translated as ‘mission of God’. Justin Schell, Lausanne Movement’s director of executive projects and the US director of the Union School of Theology, unpacks the rich meaning of this term.

Justin Schell

Director of Younger Leaders Generation

Justin Schell is deeply passionate about serving God’s church and advancing her mission in the world. He serves as the Director of Lausanne's Younger Leaders Generation and is also a lecturer at Union School of Theology (www.theolo.gy). Justin holds degrees in mission and biblical theology from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and in business administration from EDHEC Business School.

He is the author of Come and See: A History and Theology of Mission and The Mission of God and the Witness of the Church. Justin is married to Megan and is the proud father of Henry and Evie. Together, they are members of Evergreen Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
