Theology Without Borders

What happens when theologians are rooted deeply in their own context while learning to think with the global church?

Clara (name changed), an academic team lead in China, credits the Lausanne Emerging Theologians Initiative for helping her grow both ‘locally and globally’ in theological reflection. ‘The initiative intentionally builds an international cohort that does theology together… this stretches me,’ she shared.

Clara has gained a deeper appreciation for China’s unique spiritual heritage and the need to communicate it beyond national borders. Her YLGen involvement balances local context with global awareness: ‘It helps me maintain a perspective beyond our national context, counterbalancing the tendency to emphasize contextual issues over globally shared concerns and opportunities.’ Lausanne continues to shape voices for the global church.
