As we close the chapter on an extraordinary year in the life of the Lausanne Movement, I am filled with deep gratitude—for the work of the Spirit, for the unity of the global church, and for your faithful partnership in the gospel.
2024 marked a defining moment in Lausanne’s story. Through the Fourth Lausanne Congress in Incheon, and through every gathering, resource, and relationship before and after, we witnessed God moving in unmistakable ways. From listening and learning from the global church to launching new initiatives, this was a year of convergence and commissioning. A year where vision became tangible and momentum began to multiply.
We saw leaders from nearly every country engage in shared discernment. We heard fresh theological reflection and released research that will shape the global mission conversation for years to come. We watched as generations encouraged one another, and as networks formed new pathways for action. We experienced the joy of the global church declaring and displaying Christ—together.
This report captures some of what God has done through the Lausanne Movement in 2024. It is not a summary of our activity; it is a celebration of our shared impact. And it is a reminder that the real story is only just beginning.
As we step into 2025, we do so with humble confidence. The Spirit is moving. The church is listening. And Lausanne is ready to continue serving as a trusted catalyst, convener, and collaborator in the global mission of God.
On behalf of the Lausanne leadership team, thank you. Thank you for standing with us, praying with us, and investing in this vision. We look forward—with faith and expectancy—to what lies ahead.
With gratitude in Christ,

Let the Church Declare and Display Christ Together
The Fourth Lausanne Congress was the heart of 2024. Held in Incheon, South Korea, this landmark gathering brought together more than 6,300 leaders between the ages of 18 and 89 from over 200 countries and territories—onsite and online—to declare and display Christ together.
From the first note of worship to the final words of commissioning, the Congress was more than an event. It was a holy convergence. Over seven days, the global church became visible in all its diversity and beauty. Participants listened, imagined, and committed themselves anew to God’s mission during the 19 plenary sessions, 100 collaborative sessions, and hundreds of table group conversations.
“It was a taste of heaven. Worship was so powerful. Singing together as one voice to the almighty in our own languages from every nation and tribe was heavenly.”

Collaborative Action
The invitation to action was clear and compelling. More than 6,000 Collaborative Action Commitments were signed by participants, and 284 action teams formed to address some of the most urgent gaps in global mission. These commitments are already being carried forward in networks, regions, and ministries around the world.

The reach of the Congress extended far beyond the walls of the venue:
1,152

Throughout the week, digital spaces offered new ways to explore mission.

The Digital Discovery Center showcased 42 exhibitors and 26 microtalks, sparking hundreds of conversations at the intersection of technology and mission.

And in the storytelling booths, 981 stories were captured from 104 countries—testimonies of joy, perseverance, calling, and collaboration.
‘In many ways, the Congress would have been a finish line, a task to complete. Instead, we see that Lausanne and the Digital Discovery Center are launching pads, taking us to a whole other level, thanks to the influence of Lausanne and the relationships established in Korea. This was by far the best, most impactful thing our organization did in 2024. I cannot wait to see what God has in store next.’

Sparking Local Change through Global Innovation
In 2024, Lausanne became a platform for innovation—not just in ideas, but in action. By connecting grassroots leaders with global strategies and emerging tools, we helped translate vision into impact, and thoughts into mission. These efforts underscore a growing truth: global momentum leads to impact in every context. By empowering leaders with the right tools and relationships, Lausanne is helping mission become actionable, contextual, and enduring.
Among the stories shared since the Congress is that of Sophia, a denominational leader in South Africa, who felt the Spirit prompting her to challenge her church’s vision after attending the Congress. As a result, her denomination rewrote their mission statements to include the Great Commission, committed their next national conference to mission mobilization, hired a full-time missionary couple, and equipped both children and youth ministries to engage globally—reminding us how a single Congress experience, yielded to God, can spark transformation across an entire denomination.
Lausanne Action Hub
We also launched the Lausanne Action Hub, a digital platform built to carry the momentum of the Congress into collaborative mission. Through the Hub, leaders from around the world are connecting around shared priorities, forming cross-sector partnerships, and initiating new projects that address some of the most urgent gaps in global mission today.
Accelerate

Another exciting development was the launch of Accelerate, an initiative designed to equip mission-minded leaders with catalytic resources from the Congress. Since the end of the Congress, thousands of leaders have downloaded videos, visited the Accelerate site, and begun using the resources in churches, classrooms, and collaborative spaces around the world.
Embodying the Spirit of Lausanne
This global gathering was also made possible by a spirit of radical generosity. 2,308 participants had the cost of their hotel covered, in addition to the millions of dollars in scholarships which enabled broader participation.
One of the unique ways Lausanne created space for global participation in 2024 was through volunteer service. To make the Congress possible, we invited people from every region to contribute their time and talents—and they showed up in extraordinary ways.
Thousands supported Lausanne throughout the year—before, during, and after the Congress—serving in logistics, communications, translation, prayer, hospitality, and digital infrastructure. Their sacrificial service was not just functional—it was formational, embodying the spirit of Lausanne.
The Korean church served with unmatched joy and hospitality. From the earliest stages of planning to the final moments of worship, Korean leaders, churches, and volunteers offered their time, resources, and hearts to serve the global church.
More than 400 churches collaborated to welcome the world, 1,600 volunteers sacrificially gave of themselves, and thousands committed to sustained prayer—both before and during the Congress. Their partnership was spiritual and deeply relational, embodying the very spirit of unity and mission that Lausanne exists to foster. One American participant, Anglus, described his gratitude to the Korean church this way:
‘Because of you, we’ve been renewed, revived, and ready to go!’
‘I have never experienced such a deep level of servanthood combined with enthusiasm and authenticity. It was an amazing experience.’
Congress volunteer from Germany
The Fourth Lausanne Congress was not a finish line—it was a new beginning. Its impact continues to ripple outward, as leaders return to their contexts with new conviction, new partnerships, and a shared desire to see the gospel proclaimed and lived out to the ends of the earth.

Creating Spaces for Global Connection and Collaboration
Throughout 2024, Lausanne provided meaningful opportunities for leaders to meet, listen, and collaborate in new ways. In addition to the 10 in-person gatherings, over 83 online gatherings were hosted, drawing international participants and convening leaders around critical topics and networks. From issue-specific webinars to cross-regional prayer calls, these spaces fostered trust, deepened relationships, and catalyzed joint action.
Dozens of issue network-led consultations and gatherings took place before and after the Congress. These included:
A renewed Disability Concerns Network, which now includes leaders from 25 countries, has launched new mentoring and advocacy initiatives
A Creation Care Consultation, focusing on environmental mission and sustainability
The Integrity and Anti-Corruption Network, forming new cross-sector working groups following momentum from the Congress
Health for All Nations, where at least 5 teams are collaborating on theology of health, spiritual care in healthcare, and anti-corruption in medical systems
‘The Congress brought us together and inspired our network. We created a diverse global group passionate about seeing the church bring in people with disabilities, build them up and send them out on mission…Lausanne 4 really transformed our network!’
Nathan from the Disability Concerns Network
At the Fourth Lausanne Congress, we launched the Lausanne Action Hub.
An innovative digital platform designed to carry the momentum of the Congress into collaborative action beyond the event itself. The Hub provides a space for global mission leaders to connect around shared missional priorities, form cross-sector partnerships, and initiate joint projects that respond to some of the most pressing missional gaps identified through the listening process. Early activity in the Action Hub has already led to new working groups, resource sharing, and strategic planning initiatives that are poised to bear fruit in the years ahead.
Following significant activity in 2023, Lausanne’s
12 regional networks continued to provide vital spaces for contextualized connection, collaboration, and momentum building toward and beyond the Fourth Lausanne Congress in 2024. These networks brought together national leaders, younger leaders, and organizational partners to discern strategic priorities and build relationships that would strengthen mission efforts within and across regions. From regional consultations to in-person gatherings and online events, the regional networks offered pathways for more leaders to engage meaningfully in the Movement and shape the direction of global mission from their unique cultural and geographic contexts.
In every gathering and relationship formed, Lausanne continued to build a global family equipped for gospel impact.

Equipping Emerging Leaders for the Future
At the heart of Lausanne’s mission is a commitment to equipping Christlike leaders who will steward the gospel across generations and geographies. In 2024, we invested in this future through focused mentoring, training, and intentional intergenerational collaboration.
The first cohort of the Lausanne Leadership Journey graduated at the end of 2024, representing a powerful model of deep discipleship and global vision. Participants journeyed together for 18 months, gaining spiritual formation, leadership development, and cross-regional exposure. Daniel from the Democratic Republic of Congo shared,
The Lausanne Leadership Journey program has allowed me to not only improve my spiritual leadership skills, but also to be connected to God’s servants from all nations who inspire me with their love for the Lord.’
Daniel from the Democratic Republic of Congo
Participants of the Lausanne Leadership Journey are not just being equipped—they’re leading change around the world.
From planting the first Mayan missionary team sent to Africa, to launching a Russian-speaking church in Mexico, alumni are turning vision into action.
In Pakistan, a new church has been established among young professionals. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, a Bible school is equipping future leaders, while a seminary in a closed Asian nation has expanded its training reach.
A social enterprise in Nigeria is now meeting local needs through business and outreach, and a US-based mega church has grown its global missionary sending capacity. These are just a few glimpses of how God is using this generation of leaders to advance the gospel in fresh and faithful ways.

The YLGen Educate initiative also celebrated a new milestone, with 52 scholarship recipients from 36 countries now equipped with seminary theological education—many as the first in their family or community to access such training. These leaders are already serving as pastors, mobilizers, entrepreneurs, and ministry leaders in places of great gospel opportunity.

A new initiative, the Emerging Theologians Initiative, was launched in 2024 to elevate voices from underrepresented regions and cultures. This growing group is shaping conversations on theology and mission with depth and cultural resonance, enriching the global church’s understanding of God’s work.
‘This scholarship is more than just a step forward in my academic journey—it is an investment in me as a minister in my local and global ministries.’
Jason from South Africa
Younger Leaders Gathering
In March 2027, Lausanne will host its next Younger Leaders Gathering in Brazil. The announcement at the close of the Congress marked the next phase in Lausanne’s intergenerational vision, inviting emerging leaders into a 10-year journey of growth, connection, and gospel-centered impact.

God’s Mission, Proclaimed and Pursued
Throughout 2024, Lausanne served as a global amplifier of voices—stories, insights, and testimonies that stirred hearts and mobilized action. In a world grappling with complexity and division, the Lausanne Movement continued to provide biblically rooted, globally informed content that reminded the church of its unchanging call: to participate in God’s mission to the nations.
This year, stories and insights shared through the Lausanne Movement Podcast and the God on the Move Podcast reached believers from more than 180 countries, inspiring fresh obedience and deeper prayer. One listener wrote, ‘What a beautiful testimony! Thousands of lives (mine being one) are being encouraged and strengthened because of this.’ Others shared how their understanding of mission, reconciliation, and cross-cultural ministry was challenged and transformed.

From thoughtful articles to personal testimonies, Lausanne helped the church reflect on topics such as unreached peoples, disciple-making, creation care, leadership development, and mission in contexts of conflict. One reader, Tina, responded to an article on reconciliation with:
‘It is refreshing to read such a well-thought-out, balanced, biblically sound consideration of the complex issue of reconciliation! What a refreshing perspective to see both sides as human and worthy of justice and mercy. I’ve come away encouraged, just knowing there are people thinking about this crucial issue.’
Tina
As stories from leaders across contexts were platformed, the global church was strengthened in unity, humility, and renewed courage. In every medium, Lausanne’s focus remained clear: to spotlight what God is doing and to invite his people to join in.

Fueling the Movement through Research and Theology
In 2024, two seminal resources were released to equip the church for mission in today’s rapidly changing world: the State of the Great Commission Report and The Seoul Statement.

State of the Great Commission Report
After four years of research, the State of the Great Commission Report, available in 7 languages, offered a comprehensive, data-informed picture of the global mission landscape. Over 500 pages in length and authored by more than 150 global thought leaders, the report identified strategic gaps, emerging opportunities, and crucial shifts shaping the future. The report is already being used to inform denominational strategies, catalyze regional discussions, and guide mission planning at every level.

Seoul Statement
Released alongside the report, The Seoul Statement aims to address specific theological gaps identified by the Theology Working Group, a group of two dozen global theologians. The Statement speaks to contemporary questions—technology, human dignity, gospel proclamation—with timeless biblical clarity. It affirms Lausanne’s long-standing commitments while calling the church to deeper witness in today’s world.
Together, these resources represent Lausanne’s commitment not only to convene leaders but to equip them—offering tools that can serve the global church for years to come.

Stewarding Your Generosity for Greater Kingdom Impact
None of this would have been possible without the generosity of Lausanne’s global family. In 2024, thousands gave, prayed, and served sacrificially to make our shared mission a reality. Their support empowered regional, generational, and issue networks, fuelled the launch of new initiatives, and made the Fourth Lausanne Congress possible. The stories in this report represent just a portion of what God is doing through the Movement—and only the beginning of what lies ahead.
Thanks to extraordinary generosity—above and beyond the core needs of the Movement—over $4.2 million in scholarships were provided to Congress participants. This made it possible for believers from across the world, including many from underrepresented regions, to take part in the Congress.
‘The financial burden was heavy, but by the grace of God and kindness of many, I’m here. Your generosity carried me across oceans. You made the impossible possible.’
Congress participant from Indonesia

Donors from 31 countries and territories contributed to an appeal at the end of the Congress for the next Lausanne Younger Leaders Gathering, raising over $115,000 toward the next chapter of Lausanne’s intergenerational vision.
These acts of generosity are not just numbers. They represent lives changed, leaders launched, and new collaborations sparked for the glory of Christ. Through the generosity of donors and the Korean church as well as the effective stewardship of resources, the Congress was hosted without incurring any debt.
To every donor, volunteer, and partner: thank you. You are part of this story. Your support helped shape one of the most impactful years in Lausanne’s history—and continues to fuel the Movement as we look toward 2050.

Looking Ahead: Momentum for the Mission
As we look to 2025, we carry with us the weight and wonder of all God did in 2024. The Fourth Lausanne Congress was not the end of a journey—it was the beginning of a new chapter. What was birthed in Incheon continues to grow across regions, issue networks, and generations.
We enter this next season with clarity of purpose and renewed conviction. Guided by Lausanne’s fourfold vision and values, we are building on the momentum of the Congress to accelerate global mission together.
Our Vision
- The gospel for every person
- Disciple-making churches for every people and place
- Christlike leaders for every church and sector
- Kingdom impact in every sphere of society
To everyone who has walked with us in 2024—thank you. Your prayers, service, generosity, and encouragement have helped turn vision into reality. We invite you to stay close to the story as it continues to unfold, and to join us in what’s next.
The task remains great. But our hope in Christ is greater still.
