The Younger Leaders Gathering (YLG) is a gathering of younger Christian leaders from every region, hosted by the Lausanne Movement, which brings them into a 10-year journey called YLGen. The next YLGen is dubbed ‘YLGen2’ beginning from YLG2026, which will be held in Brazil. YLG2026 is intended as a strategic follow-up to The Fourth Lausanne Congress.
Purpose
The aim is to identify a new generation of young leaders to advance the fourfold vision: the gospel for every person, disciple-making churches for every people and place, Christ-like leaders for every church and sector, and kingdom impact in every sphere of society. This involves the formation of the foundation of relationships between younger leaders and mentors and the YLGen2 journey. We aim to connect each younger leader’s calling to Lausanne’s:
- Conviction – historic faith articulated in the Lausanne Covenant
- Character – as captured by the “spirit of Lausanne”
- Community – 12 regions, issue networks, intergenerational
- Commission – fourfold vision, collaborative action toward 2050
