The Diaspora Consultation on Diasporas into and out of Oceania is a dynamic gathering of church leaders, scholars, and practitioners passionate about mission in a rapidly changing world. This consultation creates a vital space to explore emerging migration trends across Oceania, engage expert voices, and discern how the Church can respond faithfully and strategically.
The purpose of this event is to convene a catalytic gathering and conversation among pastors, practitioners of diaspora missions and leading scholars of Oceanians worldwide and diasporas in Oceania.
Objectives
- Learn and discuss about missions by, through and among Oceanian diasporas.
- Assess the impact of migration to, within and from Oceania.
- Explore new horizons for diaspora missions in the contexts of economic migrants, international students, family migrants, internal migrants, ecological migrants, refugees and other forcibly displaced peoples.
- Create a forum for Christian leaders to network and collaborate.
- Compile proceedings of the consultation into a future publication.
