The Church in a Post-COVID World

30 Apr 2021 Online

On 30 April 2021, the Lausanne Theology Working Group hosted the first of two webinars on ‘The Church in a Post-COVID World’.

COVID-19 decisively impacted and disturbed the universally established notions and practices of being ‘Church’. Unprecedented restrictions on physical gathering and lengthy lockdowns radically affected traditional means of corporate worship and fellowship and forced Christian communities to adopt newer technologies to stay connected and practise the faith.

The purpose of this webinar was to reflect theologically on the challenges that faced churches around the world during the rise of the COVID-19 pandemic and to highlight some lessons learned, as well as to provide some signposts to the church of the future.

This webinar was moderated by Dr Michael Oh, global director and CEO of Lausanne, and featured Dr Chris Wright (UK) and Dr Mauro Meister (Brazil). Other panelists included Dr Steve Bryan (US), Dr Vhumani Magezi (South Africa), Dr Steven Chang (South Korea) and Ms Grace Al-Zoughbi Arteen (Palestine).
