Through well-developed networks, churches, community organizations, and mission structures, Korean diaspora communities have engaged in ministry and mission across generations and geographical contexts. Their experience provides valuable insights into how diaspora communities can be organized, connected, and mobilized.
In this fifth event of the Lausanne Diaspora Series, we will explore Korean Diasporas and the Development of Diaspora Missiology, reflecting on the Korean diaspora experience and its implications for mission among and through diaspora communities around the world.
We are pleased to welcome Rev. Barnabas C. S. Moon, Vice Chairman of the Global Diaspora Network, a Lausanne Issue Network. With decades of experience in Korean diaspora mission, Rev. Moon has been closely involved in the development of diaspora mission in Korea and internationally. He will share from this experience and help us reflect on the unique contribution of Korean diasporas to the wider mission movement.
This gathering will be especially relevant for mission leaders, church leaders, diaspora practitioners, researchers, and others seeking to understand and engage with the growing reality of diaspora communities.
The event will be conducted bilingually in English and Portuguese, making the conversation accessible to participants from different contexts and creating opportunities for connection and learning across languages.
The gathering is also designed with oral-preference audiences in mind, emphasizing listening, dialogue, testimony, and shared stories as important ways of learning and engaging with the topic.
Join us for this fifth gathering as we listen, learn, and reflect together on the Korean diaspora and its contribution to the development of Diaspora Missiology.
