Becoming a Global Disciple

How Local Is Your Faith?

About the Plan

Throughout this series, we have asked: How global is your faith?

But as the series comes to a close, we need to ask an equally important question: How local is your faith?

A love for the global church should never lead us to neglect the local church. Global discipleship and local discipleship are not two separate callings. They belong together. The God who loves the world sent his Son into a particular place, among particular people, in a particular community. Jesus lived locally with a global vision.

That same pattern shapes our discipleship today. We follow Jesus not in theory, but in embodied, everyday faithfulness where God has placed us. We need the local church in order to thrive, and the local church needs us in order to become the body Christ has called it to be.

This four-day plan invites you to bring the global vision of the series back into your local context. Through Scripture, reflection, and prayer, you will consider what it means to be locally rooted, connected to Christian community, and willing to help your local church lift its eyes to the beauty and mission of the global body of Christ.
