How do Christianity and humanism, the two dominant streams in Western thought, interact with each other? Swedish apologist and writer Stefan Gustavsson outlines several inadequate responses that the church has made in response to the rise of Enlightenment humanism and secularism, showing how the influences of modernism remain in the areas of science, ethics and religion, even in a supposedly postmodern culture.
