How can churches discern where they are best placed to send mission workers—and how can the global church send more strategically into God’s harvest?
This open online gathering will introduce Strategic Sending, a biblically rooted approach designed to help churches consider where and how they can contribute to sending workers, both within their own region and beyond it.
Who Is This Gathering For?
This gathering is for mission mobilisers, church leaders, mission agency staff, and anyone who cares about how the global church sends workers into God’s harvest.
No prior knowledge of Strategic Sending is needed, and participants from every region are warmly welcome.
Why Strategic Sending?
Jesus told his followers to ‘ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field’ (Matt 9:38, NIV).
Yet mission workers are often sent unevenly. Some places receive many workers, while others receive very few. At the same time, churches and mission organisations can struggle to discern where their contribution is most needed.
Strategic Sending offers a simple, biblically rooted approach to help churches in every region discern where they are best placed to send workers—both within their own region and beyond it.
Following years of consultation, the Strategic Sending letters, website, and interactive map have now been published. These resources are ready to be explored and tested, but publication is only the beginning. The next step is to learn together how they can help churches respond faithfully and strategically to the call to send workers into God’s harvest.
What to Expect
This 90-minute interactive gathering will include prayer, the story behind Strategic Sending, an introduction to the Strategic Sending letters and interactive map, and small-group conversations by region or language hosted by members of the Strategic Sending team.
Participants will have the opportunity to explore what Strategic Sending could mean for their own church, network, or organisation and identify a practical next step.
We also hope to connect with early partners who are willing to test the approach in their contexts. Together, we can learn what helps churches put Strategic Sending into practice and contribute to a more thoughtful, collaborative approach to sending workers where they are most needed.
