Delivering a sobering message on the persecution faced by Christians in India today, Varghese highlighted the systematic and dangerous attacks against believers. Christians face physical, intellectual, and financial persecution, including being deprived of basic rights like employment, water, and burial. Varghese addressed the false narrative that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a remnant of colonialism, reminding us that the Gospel arrived in India in the 1st century through the Apostle Thomas. Despite the growing anti-conversion laws and challenges, he emphasized that persecution often fans the flames of the Gospel. He noted that, “God can use persecution to purify His church and even to push forward His mission.”
