54. Sport and Faith: Turning the World Upside Down

Brian discusses the pervasive role of sports in global cultures and how Reality Sports leverages this platform to integrate the gospel into athletic training. He shares the challenges and successes of merging sports and faith, recounts impactful personal stories and provides insights into the ministry’s vision of turning the world upside down through sport. Brian also addresses the current secularization of American culture, especially in the Pacific Northwest, and how sports can serve as a unique avenue for spreading the message of Christ.

Brian Peterson

Brian Peterson is the Co-founder and Executive Director of Reality Sports, a sports ministry established in 2006 that aims to share the life-changing message of the Gospel with athletes through comprehensive physical, mental, and spiritual training. With 25 years of coaching experience, Brian has dedicated his career to integrating faith and athletics. He served as a lay elder at Lake Tapps Community Church from 2015 to 2024, where he and his family have been members since 2009. Brian has been married for 27 years and is a proud father of three grown children and grandfather to three grandchildren.​
