The Oceania region stretches from Perth, Western Australia to the Pitcairn Island. In addition to the Australian continent, it includes New Zealand, Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia, and bridges both the equator and the International Date Line. The world begins and ends each day among this region’s coast lands. Climates in this region range from soaring temperatures in Australia’s outback, to snow-capped mountains in New Zealand, and tropical beaches in Polynesia.

Challenges in this region include both prosperity and poverty, secularism and animism,  individualism and tribalism. Despite Christianity being the largest religion on paper, recent censuses report growing numbers of non-religion peoples (which includes atheism, agnosticism, deism, and secular humanism). God continues to build his church and equip them for mission. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, the Church in Oceania is preparing for a new evangelisation of peoples who today are hungering for Christ.

In Oceania, the Lausanne Movement serves as a catalyst for relationships and partnerships that cross boundaries—geographical, national, cultural, and denominational—and bear fruit for the sake of the gospel. Will you partner with us to further God’s mission in this dynamic region of the world?

Pray for our work in Oceania

  2. Fruitful relationships and partnerships – Pray for ongoing catalytic relationships and partnerships that cross boundaries—geographical, national, cultural, and denominational—and bear fruit for the sake of the gospel.
  3. That our love may be sincere and result in bearing fruit – Pray that our love may abound even more and more in knowledge and every kind of insight so that we can discern what is best, and be sincere and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God. (Philippians 1:9-11)
