Stephen Ko

Catalyst for Health

United States

Reverend Dr. Stephen Ko is an author, pastor, and physician whose work bridges faith, medicine, and public health. He serves as the Missions Pastor at Aletheia Church, practices as a pediatrician and preventive medicine physician within the Mass General Brigham healthcare system, and helps lead the Lausanne Movement’s Health Network.

Previously, Stephen served as Senior Pastor of a Christian & Missionary Alliance church, worked as a Medical Officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and taught on the faculty of Boston University and Alliance Theological Seminary. As a pediatrician, epidemiologist, and public health expert, he brings a deep understanding of how disease affects both individuals and societies.

With a uniquely interdisciplinary background (MD, MA, MPH, MDiv), Stephen is among a handful of writers working at the intersection of faith, medicine, and public health, offering a thoughtful and compelling voice in this space.

Stephen serves as a Catalyst for the Lausanne Movement’s Health Network. He regularly preaches, speaks, and writes on faith and health for churches, retreats, and publications such as Christianity Today and the Christian Medical and Dental Association. He is the author of Faith Embodied (Zondervan, 2024), has contributed several chapters to other books, and shares content through a newsletter on his website and on Instagram and Facebook.
