After serving years as professor and leader on various campuses, Mark pioneered Scripture engagement and community development programs for oral cultures through local church partnerships. He leads SRV, an international organization dedicated to getting the gospel to every Bibleless and unreached people group. Today, their programs serve people groups in over 500 languages in areas including evangelism, discipleship, trauma healing, church planting, and Bible translation.
In addition to serving the Lausanne Movement as a catalyst for its Orality Issue Network, Mark serves on the global leadership team of the International Orality Network (ION). As ION’s Senior Associate—Education, Mark serves leaders among the poorest, hardest to reach people groups on earth. He also consults with global organizations in areas including healthy partnerships, oral strategies, trauma healing, program architecture, and evaluation. He has published numerous articles, chapters, presented papers, and spoken at conferences around the world.
