Issue Group 13: Prayer in Evangelism

The role of prayer in evangelism—how can we mobilize the church to pray for world mission as well as God’s miraculous intervention in bringing the gospel to closed people.

The expected outcomes of the work done on this issue were:

  1. Prayer is essential for the life of the church and for effective mission, yet most congregations fail to give corporate prayer priority in their lives. Indicate ways we could articulate to churches their responsibility to pray for world evangelization with suggested ways this could be done.
  2. Identify creative ways of evangelism praying.
  3. Encourage prayer for the week-day lives and ministries of individual Christians.
