Event Report
Experienced Evangelists and trained counselors from around Tanzania joined together in Iringa, Tanzania for an 8 day mission that brought churches and the community together for a time of introducing the community to Christ. The week began with a march through town signifying to the community that the Mission had begun. Churches let out and made their way to a open air soccer field to gather by the thousands to hear the Gospel. Afternoon community wide rallies were strengthened by teams through the day going into the streets and marketplace to hold open air meetings. The Winners Gospel Choir would sing to draw the crowd then a brief message would conclude with people raising their hands to indicate the desire to have a relationship with Christ and counselors would go to them to talk about their decision one on one and record their decision for local churched to do long term follow up. One young lady shared that she just heard noisy preaching and decided to pop in and see who are these 'undemocratic' people who call every one to become Christian. Coming close, I hear one 'speaking about me', then one 'praying on exact' problems I had. Just then, was called to accept 'the healer-Jesus! The comforter-Jesus!' I did; and they told me I am now a Christian! I said “Fine… LET IT BE!” One out of town observer stated that there would be fruit from this Mission to be harvested for a long time to come in the future.
