Strengthening a Nation’s Shepherd
What happens when investment in one Christ-centred leader begins strengthening an entire network of churches?
In the DRC, Bishop Daniel Kyungu leads the Africa Inland Church — 50 parishes, 100 schools, and over 30,000 children — in one of the world’s most challenging contexts. His heart beats for rescuing children from dangerous mines, equipping those with disabilities with entrepreneurial skills, and shepherding pastors with little or no formal training.
Through the Lausanne Leadership Journey, Daniel encountered transformative Christlike leadership and encouragement. ‘This program radically changed my perspective of service,’ he shared. Lausanne’s support is now multiplying—connecting Daniel with partners to train pastors and provide Christian curriculum. As one pastor said, ‘When Lausanne invests in Daniel, our whole denomination is blessed.’
