Across the globe and in the church, equality for women has been portrayed as the ultimate antidote to the widespread and tragic abuse of women. But is equality enough? This article takes a hard look at the shortcomings of equality, turning instead to the doctrine of Imago Dei. Here we find a biblical language that can unite us across cultures, so that women everywhere can flourish.
