Fellowship Overview

The Lausanne Movement invites applications for a Research Fellowship within the Department of Global Research. This honorary fellowship supports emerging and established scholars in advancing global research efforts that further the mission of the Great Commission. It offers an opportunity to engage in high-level research, foster strategic collaboration, and disseminate insights that will meaningfully shape Great Commission work worldwide.

Fellowship Objectives

The Research Fellow will collaborate with the Director of Global Research to conduct rigorous research, lead strategic projects, and contribute to the Lausanne Movement’s mission through thought leadership and collaborative engagement. This fellowship is designed for individuals passionate about analyzing contemporary global trends to identify key opportunities and challenges for advancing the Great Commission.

Key Opportunities:

Research Leadership:

  • Conduct advanced literature reviews and analyses on critical topics relevant to global mission.
  • Curate, synthesize, and publish research findings in collaboration with the Department of Global Research.

Strategic Project Involvement:

  • Lead or collaborate on high-impact research projects aligned with the Movement’s strategic priorities.
  • Develop and oversee project workflows, ensuring the timely completion of deliverables.

Dissemination and Communication:

  • Present research findings to academic and non-academic audiences.
  • Contribute to the creation of professional publications, reports, and presentations.

Networking and Collaboration:

  • Engage with key global stakeholders, fostering partnerships that strengthen Lausanne’s mission.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary and intercultural dialogues within the Movement’s networks.

Operational Support:

  • Support funding initiatives through the preparation of grant proposals.
  • Ensure research outputs reflect diversity in geography, gender, age, and vocation.

Qualifications

Academic:

  • Completed graduate degree in discipline applicable to the macro study of global trends that effect missions (e.g. Missiology, Economics, International Relations, Philosophy, Strategic Foresight Analysis, Intelligence Analysis). Ph.D. degree completed or in progress preferred but not required. 
  • Proven research experience, with a track record of publications or presentations.

Professional:

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in academic writing and data presentation for diverse audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to engage across cultures and contexts.
  • Availability to meet within the preferred time range of 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM PST (5:00 PM – 10:00 PM GMT).
