Esther grew up as a SIM Korean missionary kid in Nigeria and later became a missionary to Cambodia. Together with her husband and their four children they lived in Cambodia for about 5 years during which time they built an orphanage and planted a church. During furlough God led her husband to study at Trinity, IL, and later to serve at Bethel Korean Presbyterian Church as a senior pastor.
