Azar Ajaj

Born and raised in Nazareth, Israel, Azar is an ordained minister with over 30 years of service to the Arab Israeli community. He was one of the founding members of the Local Baptist Church in Nazareth in 1996 and has been its pastor since 2020. Beyond his pastoral role, Azar contributes to several organizations: including serving on the board of trustees of The Nazareth Trust and the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students. His previous service includes an executive role with the United Bible Society and serving as the General Secretary of the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students in Israel.

Currently, Azar is engaged in research on the history of Baptists in Israel for his PhD and serves as the president and lecturer at Nazareth Evangelical College. He has been married to his wife Ibtisam for 33 years, they have 3 sons together. Azar is deeply committed to fostering spiritual growth and leadership within his community and beyond.
