Portugal Awakens: A New Fire for Mission
What if churches began seeing their changing neighbourhoods not as a threat, but as a mission field?
At the 2025 Portuguese Evangelical Forum, over 700 believers gathered in Sintra with renewed vision for mission — right at their doorstep and beyond. Churches were ignited toward compassionate, creative, cross-cultural engagement.
Lausanne Europe co-director Jim Memory delivered the keynote, urging the church to see Europe not as post-Christian, but as fertile ground for revival. His message — and an intimate “At the Table with Lausanne” leadership event—helped inspire pastors and mobilise a generation to reach the unreached. One young participant declared, ‘The church in Portugal is awakening with a new fire. And we want to share it with the world.’
