Helen is an ordained Baptist minister with a career background in nursing, public health and nurse education. In 2000 her ministry training, passion for mission and nursing career came together to result in the founding of Parish Nursing Ministries UK, a not-for-profit that helps churches of all denominations to begin offering whole-person health care.
Both her masters and doctorate degrees focused on the theological and missiological rationale for this practice, and she has since engaged with both national and global networks in health ministry.
