Recruitment and People Lead

Under the supervision of the Chief Operations Officer, the Recruitment and People Lead is the first point of contact for new staff joining the organization. You help build our team by connecting people from all over the world who are passionate about the Great Commission to our organization. You ensure a seamless entry point to the organization making sure that people are set up to hit the ground running. Using extreme attention to detail, you leverage your strong administrative skills to manage the contract renewal process with our independent contractors. 

Lausanne recruits staff that have a strong active faith in Christ and see that everything they are involved in life is in some way a part of their overall ministry. This includes their “job”, whatever it is. Lausanne staff are parts of a puzzle that have many pieces, of which they are one. Their puzzle piece fits into the whole and it is this way that the Lord uses Lausanne to minister in the world. 

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruitment
    • Develop well-written job postings that attract candidates to apply to positions at the Lausanne Movement in coordination with the hiring manager. 
    • Post the job on relevant job boards and our internal ATS system. 
    • Screen resumes according to skills and ability. 
    • Conduct competency based pre-screen interviews. 
    • Coordinate candidate communications and second round interviews with the. hiring manager.
    • Facilitate the completion of practical exercises. 
    • Conduct background and reference checks.
  • Contract Management 
    • Draft contracts for new staff.
    • Extend offers to new staff. Consult with the Chief Operating Officer for any contract negotiations. 
    • Manage the annual contract renewal process.
  • Onboarding
    • Coordinate and send all documents and onboarding information that needs to be sent to new staff.
    • Set up staff in Lausanne Systems (Rippling, G-suite, Slack, Wrike, Zoom, Expensify)
    • Coordinate a plan to train and onboard new staff with the hiring manager. 

As the organization grows, the scope of your role may also grow to provide support to additional HR functions. 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

Professional

  • 3+ years experience in a recruitment or HR related role.
  • Strong understanding of recruitment/HR in a cross-cultural context.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a remote and cross-cultural environment.

  • Follower of Jesus Christ

  • Ability to interact sensitivity with people from diverse Christian theological perspectives within the global Body of Christ, under the common commitment of the Lausanne Covenant.
