Take a look at some of the key concern areas that we seek to address.
100% of all humans are born oral communicators. 80% of the world prefer oral to text-based messages.
They can be completely illiterate, functional illiterate, visually impaired, or hearing impaired, or simply part of an oral culture.
These 5.7 billion oral preference learners have a minority ofresources attempting to reach them for Christ.
The vast majority of our outreach work today is conducted through literate means which oral–reliant communicators do not understand.
Oral–reliant communicators are found in every cultural group in the world…
...with more than half of oral–reliant communicators being among the unreached.
This represents an unparalleled challenge for the gospel requiring the church to radically rethink evangelism, discipleship, leadership training, and church planting.
How can we play a part in the oral engagement of the gospel?
Core Ambition
We want to see the church embracing orality as a critical reality for global mission today.
‘Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son.’
Hebrews 1:1-2a
Take a moment to pray for someone you know who prefers the spoken word rather than the written word to receive, process, and pass on information; and ask God to show you how you might engage them with the gospel.
So what can we do?
Advocate for oral methods and emerging technologies to be adopted in evangelism, discipleship, and Bible translation.
