Persecution and Resilience: The Church’s Growth in MENA and Sub-Saharan Africa

This session highlighted the severe persecution facing Christians in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East. Dr. Para-Mallam shared that over 16,000 Christians were killed, and 12,499 were kidnapped in Sub-Saharan Africa in the past year. Despite these challenges, the church continues to grow, with Christians refusing to deny Christ even under the threat of death. He emphasized the need for prayer and advocacy to support those facing persecution.

Rev. Riad spoke of the courage and perseverance of Christians in the MENA region, enduring government oppression and Islamic violence. He called for global solidarity, preparation for persecution, and supporting believers to remain in their home countries as salt and light. Both speakers stressed that persecution, while painful, is not the end of the story—it strengthens the church and glorifies God.
