An estimated 1.3 billion people live with disabilities—that’s 1 in 7 people.
People with disabilities are the world’s largest minority (15% of the global population).
They are present in all people groupings, speaking all languages, and populating all cultures.
Yet they are a hidden group—either due to shame or stigma, or because of inaccessibility.
Therefore, even those who live in largely evangelised people groups remain significantly unreached.
Most disabled people have not found their place or opportunity for service in a local church.
What Defines Disability?
Current mission and church leadership must realise that for the body of Christ to express itself fully, the disabled must be involved as strategic ministry partners.
