Since 2011 Michelle Tolentino has served as co-founder and president of Made In Hope, a non-profit organization that empowers women and children who have been rescued from the global sex trade (human trafficking) to break the cycle of exploitation and secure their freedom by providing education, sustainable livelihood opportunities, and care in the healing process. In the last five years, Made in Hope has provided job opportunities to at least 100 women coming out of exploitation in the Philippines and reached out to at least 5,000 at-risk children and youth in the Asia-Pacific region through outreach programs in churches, schools, and community events focusing on the prevention of exploitation (human trafficking and prostitution).
Michelle also serves as broadcaster and producer for ‘Okiddo: The 4/14 Kids Show’, a weekly radio broadcast for children and youth (Far Eastern Broadcasting Company, Philippines) that reaches 500,000 listeners. It was awarded a Golden Dove Award in 2015 by the Broadcasters Association of the Philippines.
Michelle has spoken in Christian churches, events, and conferences in more than 20 countries all over the world. She was a presenter at the Lausanne Global Forum on Children-at-Risk in Quito, Ecuador in 2014 and a participant of the 2016 Younger Leaders Gathering.
